Picker’s Wallet

Wallets. One of those things that most everyone has, yet no one really appreciates. For me, they’re always a bit of a pain in the arse, as when you wear skinny jeans, you really don’t have much room up in front.

So about a year ago, while browsing through Hot Topic (yeah, yeah, save the hell for later…) I found a dream. A tiny little compact “wallet” for $8.99 in black and white plaid, which I would end up shoving 6 different cards, including my ID, as well as a bit of “backup cash” (I pay with plastic almost 100% of the time) inside, without looking like I was carrying a Sony walkman in my front pocket, as you do with a regular wallet.

Now, after a year, and having survived a 116°F Arizona summer, my super-slim wallet is still in-tact, but looking a little less than attractive, meaning I was back in the market for something new, and while I was browsing through Fancy recently, I found it.

Whipping Post, which seems to have one employee (and maybe an occasional helper) is from Atlanta, Georgia and while also making some jaw-dropping-ley-gor-geous guitar cases, also makes the Picker’s Wallet, which I picked up, for a near steal at $30.

It’s built with 100% full grain leather (I’ve yet to figure out which type exactly), fits quite nicely in skinny jeans, will fit 3 cards, your ID, and some cash as well, and comes in a nice little gift box, which upon opening, the smell will make most any normal human being (much less those who love leather…) drool, just a tiny bit. It smells like dead cow, in a (very very very) nice way.
